The Color of Annoyance

What am I talking about?  Can annoyance have a colour?  Let me explain.   On July 1, 2012, I fell out of my camper van backwards at 9:30 am and broke my right ankle.  Come to find out very badly. I actually broke my ankle on both sides so I needed surgery. The paramedics came and were awesome, these people were very professional.  They asked me if I wanted an ambulance to take me to Sundre Hospital.  I said, "Yes!"
  
   The ambulance came and loaded in to the vehicle, off we went.  Only annoyance so far was the pain of a broken ankle.  These people were very good and treated me with their utmost care.  At the hospital in Sundre, the doctors and nurses were also excellent. I couldn\t have asked for better care.  They set my ankle so that I could be transported to Red Deer to await surgery.  No annoyance here just the pain of surgery.

     In Red Deer things changed.  The emergency room doctors to say the least was an ass. Maybe I shouldn\t say such a thing.  His first statement to me was, "It's a good thing you are not a horse!"  Well being a good farm girl I knew exactly what that meant we had to shoot horses who broke their legs.  I\m in pain, not in much of a mood for a smart ass doctor. My mood is now become a little on the orange side.

       He proceeds to ask  the general questions, do you smoke  - No. Do you drink -- maybe a couple glasses of wine twice a week.  How many bottles are in the garbage at the end of the week.  I was dumbfounded, and in severe pain.  I didn\t answer him, so he started me on B1 shots, an alcohol protocol. The shots were painful and very on called for. 

    At this point my annoyance is Bright, vibrant, blazing red because it is no longer annoyance but full blown anger.  This emergency room doctor should be held accountable for his rude actions.  He never talked to my husband, he just assumed that I was an alcoholic.  Man, I just can\t believe this and it is now causing me grieve when it comes to getting insurance!

       My advice to anyone in an emergency room situation like I was, do not tell them that you drink, because it has caused me nothing but grief trying to get insurance.  Absolutely unwarranted!
